The second and final Queensland qualifier for the TABS B.A.S.S. Australia Nation Team Championship sees us head to Lake Boondooma where some real giants will be hitting the scales.

This lake has got some amazing fishing with a very diverse impoundment offering 2 massive timbered areas, flats and drops off with some weed lined edges.

This round will also determine the best Team of the Year and after last season some incredible anglers will be amongst the leaderboard.

Team JML/ACm with the winning bag in 2017.


Atomic is the naming rights for this round and with a huge range of lures and accessories the brand nearly always comes into play with the top 5 teams.

Atomic TrickBitz Assist Hookz became popular two years ago when tournaments were won with them on Lake Boondooma.

Session Times - Session One - Saturday 2nd June 12:30pm - 4.30pm,

Briefing Times and Location - Saturday 2nd June - 11.30am - Lake Boondooma Holiday Park.

Bass size limit - 31 cm to the tip

Getting there - Lake Barambah (Bjelke-Petersen Dam) is approximately 3 hours North/West of Brisbane at the town of Murgon.


Travel Information

Located around 20 km north of Proston, and 75 km from Kingaroy, Boondooma Dam is three and a half hour drive northwest of Brisbane. 

The lake has a capacity of 210,000 mega litres when at full capacity. When full the lake has a surface area of 1,920 hectares or approximately 2500 football fields.

Facilities include - Wood and electric barbecues, children's playground, picnic areas, centrally located kiosk, 2 well maintained public boat ramps, self-contained cabins, modern kitchens, ensuites, colour TVs, a communal bunkhouse with an adjoining air-conditioned dining room, commercial kitchen, showers and toilets, caravan park with powered sites, hot water showers, laundry facilities and grey water dump point, un-powered lakeside camping facilities with amenities ans a tennis court.

DOGS - Dogs are allowed in Lake Boondooma recreation park providing they remain on a lead at all times.



A Stock Impoundments Licence (SIP Licence) is essential for fishing the stocked lakes within Queensland.
