The Atomic AOY Championship is the final qualifying chapter in season 5 of the Berkley B.A.S.S. Australia Nation Series and will determine which angler will take their place in the B.A.S.S. Australia Team in that travels to the B.A.S.S. Nation Championship in 2019.

The tournament will also decide the Co-Angler of the Year and the prize of the TABS Boat and Trailer package, driven by a Honda 50HP 4 Stroke, which will be presented to the eventual winner.

A must for any tournament angler, Boondooma has some of the best fishing in the country with not only massive bass, but larger numbers of fish usually hitting the scales.

Atomic has been supporting the B.A.S.S. Australia Nation Series since day one and take the AOY Championship into new heights.

 

Mick Johnson broke through for his maiden win on Boondooma in February 2017.

Travel Information

Located around 20 km north of Proston, and 75 km from Kingaroy, Boondooma Dam is three and a half hour drive northwest of Brisbane. 

The lake has a capacity of 210,000 mega litres when at full capacity. When full the lake has a surface area of 1,920 hectares or approximately 2500 football fields.

Facilities include - Wood and electric barbecues, children's playground, picnic areas, centrally located kiosk, 2 well maintained public boat ramps, self-contained cabins, modern kitchens, ensuites, colour TVs, a communal bunkhouse with an adjoining air-conditioned dining room, commercial kitchen, showers and toilets, caravan park with powered sites, hot water showers, laundry facilities and grey water dump point, un-powered lakeside camping facilities with amenities ans a tennis court.

DOGS - Dogs are allowed in Lake Boondooma recreation park providing they remain on a lead at all times.

FISHING LICENCE

A Stock Impoundments Licence (SIP Licence) is essential for fishing the stocked lakes within Queensland.
