As the Berkley B.A.S.S. Australia Pro Series comes closer to the 2 final rounds of the season, we have to be reminded about what’s on offer and who is seriously in the race for all the prizes up for grabs this season.

Langford is leading hte pack

The AOY titles are far from over, with Matthew Langford currently leading the pro division and casing down the Co-Angler trip to the B.A.S.S. Nation Championship in 2019, and Jake Schwerin leading the co-angler division with the TABS Boat and Honda Motor package in his vision, we have some other titles up grabs, mainly the State AOY’s, the Rookie of the Year titles and of course the big one for 2018 Motackle $10,000.00 Invitational.

We will start off with the Motackle $10,000.00 Invitational standings, this event has created a lot of passion and desire for many of the anglers, as they genuinely had a free shot at $10,000.00 at the end of the year, and by just making the top 12 of the Pro Angler of the Year Standings. Added into this an unseen level of exposure with live video, pre and post shows and extended individual angler coverage, the competitor’s will gain a huge amount of exposure for themselves and their sponsors.

Note: If there is a draw on 12thplace the count back will done using the standard method in the B.A.S.S. Australia Nation Rules and Regulations, which states the following (1) largest number of legal fish weighed during competition; (2) if the tie is not broken, the next tiebreaker will be the largest number of legal live fish weighed during competition; (3) if the tie is not broken, the next tiebreaker will be the heaviest single day catch during competition; If this tie isn’t broken we will go to a coin toss to determine the last place getter of the invitational. This tie-breaker isn’t used to determine the overall AOY Champion, if we have a tie at the top spot we will be heading out for a final session shoot out on Lake Boondooma to determine the over-all winner.

Haynes will be looking for big points in teh last 2 rounds.

With 2 rounds to go there is still a massive amount of anglers who can make the Motackle AOY Invitational, and as you can see from the following graph the over-all AOY is still far from completed. Anglers as nearly right down the bottom can move their way up above the current cut off line of 258 points that Matthew Mott and Michael “Paddy” ODowd are currently tied on. So if you aspiration is to make the Motackle AOY title, now is the time to step and take control of your destiny, charge forward and create the opportunities.

NSW AOY Standings

The NSW AOY titles will be finalised in the Keitech St Clair Classic held on the weekend of the 22nd to the 24th of June, and has some interesting angler vying for top spot. The State title prizes for each division win next seasons entries into that state and also the title trophy presented by Berkley. This is an honour for each state winner and will also help for the following seasons events.

Welfare is only 1 point away.

In the Pro division we have Matthew Langford with a single point lead over Dave Welfare and a tie on 3rd Place with Jye Clayden and Dave Lane another point back. With a ton of experience in the anglers trying to chase down the leaders there are many anglers that still have the capabilities to take this title and as we know St Clair can be won by a 10 grams at times.

Again there is a plethora of anglers in pursuit of the NSW title and some St Clair specialist that can leap frog the field to top spot.

Brown is only a 3 points away.
