Berkley B.A.S.S. Australia Nation Championship Announcement. – 30th August – 2nd September

The Berkley B.A.S.S. Australia Nation Championship is heading to Lake Glenbawn for the 2018 finale of the Berkley B.A.S.S. Australia Nation Series.

Glenbawn is one of the premium locations on the Australia Bass circuit and with great facilities, and quality lake environment, the stage is set to see who will become the 5th Pro representative to take on the world in the B.A.S.S. Nation Championship USA.

Troy Danes loves Lake Glenbawn at that time fof Year

With the top 32 Pro & Co-Anglers descending on Lake Glenbawn the prize pool will be similar to recent years, with the Pro Angler winning a trip to the USA and the Co-Anglers will be chasing a fantastic prize poll worth thousands of dollars.

Daniel McCoy will be looking for a back to back performance in the Co-Angler division.

For the first time the event will be run over 3 days, with the 30th of August being the official practice day, then the Friday the 31st of August having a standard 2 session event. On Saturday the 1st of September there will be only one session, where we will crown the Berkley Co-Angler Champion and celebrate the winners title. The lake will be rested that Saturday afternoon, and on Sunday the 2nd of September the top 12 Pro Anglers will head out with marshals on board to secure a full 4 bass limit and be looking to accumulate weight from the previous 3 sessions. The final weigh-in will be on the Sunday afternoon where we will crown the 5thBerkley B.A.S.S. Australia Nation Champion and present him or her with the trophy and title of the Australian Bass Championship.

Mitchell Cone took out 2016, can he do it again in 2018?

As like every Championship year we will toast the winners on Sunday evening with celebrations at a venue still to be announced.

Like Dean Silvester said last year, this is an opportunity to fish in a tournament of a life time, to compete at an international level and to take your shot at making the Bassmaster Classic and winning some serious prizes including bass boats and major cash.

Steve Kanowski had an amazing year in 2015, with multiple wins and the Championship.

This is an invitational event only and the only way to qualify is to either win a B.A.S.S. Australia Pro/Am Qualifier, win last year’s Championship or Angler of the Year title of make it into the next positions via the Berkley AOY system.

Last years winner Dean Silvester with fiance after his incredible event on Boondooma.

One of the most exciting events on the calendar, the Berkley B.A.S.S. Australia Nation Championship has a huge amount of publicity involved and can be a tournament anglers dream come true. With previous winners of Troy Danes, Steven Kanowski, Mitchell Cone and Dean Silvester taking their place on the trophy, the next step is up to you to make this happen.
